Life as a Ball 2008

Written and Performed by Anastasia Peterson ’08
Costume Design by Paula D. Davis

Senior Stacey Peterson had been obsessed with Lucille Ball since a child and this had played a large role in her desire to perform. So for her senior project she wrote and performed this one-woman love story to Lucille Ball in which she explored key parts of her life both public such as the famous “Vitameatavegamin” skit from I Love Lucy to more private and painful biographical moments. I had a Lucille Ball coloring book with some of her signature outfits and from this we created several looks, notably the lovely black and white houndstooth dress complete with asymmetrical peplum and curved welt pockets. The costume plot is revealing for this quick paced show as Stacey went from look to look.
